Today, Sunday, my sons are to finish their homework before they go back to school tomorrow. Both mentioned on Wednesday (which was a half day due to the holiday) that they had everything they needed.
No surprise here my oldest son mentioned he forgot something in his locker.. this happens frequently. Being a Sunday, and a holiday weekend I thought for sure that the middle school would NOT be open. But I figured why not try... nothing to loose. As it turned out the "Handicap" button worked for the outside door and the inside door was open. We tried to go to his locker, but all the lights were out, and of course my flashlight was dead. At least I now know to get batteries in it before I show another home.
I've lived in Cromwell CT for quite some time now.... and feel I have been an upstanding citizen. So imagine my surprise when on the way home I was pulled over by a police officer. It seems we triggered the silent alarm when we went into the school and they have me on the cameras. This is great news to hear... I'm glad to see/hear that my tax dollar(s) are hard at work... and the police department is doing their job. Now I'm on the monitor system for all to laugh at.. why, am still wearing my pajamas. Imagine the 11pm news... "Realtor pulled over for going into school to get homework".
I think it was actually a good thing that I was pulled over. The police officer didn't think the doors should be working.. so maybe this is a good deed in disguise. Now maybe they will make sure the doors are locked and secure.
Never a dull moment in my life... wish I could see the pictures on the schools cameras... I could use a laugh. Hope you are having a laugh on this one too.

Now Valerie, this confirms what I suspected all along. YOU are a troublemaker ; ) I like that in a gal. Hey, where's the mugshot? This is Active Rain. You have to post all relevant pictures. Glad you didn't have to get bailed out of jail and you called from Connecticut to Texas. I would have helped out a pal but the drive would have taken me awhile. At least with fresh batteries your break-in could have been more productive.
Gary.. I'm glad I made your day and you got a good laugh out of it.. I did too. It is amazing what we (as parents) will do for our children. Thank goodness I wasn't arrested.. not good for keeping my real estate license. If only the flashlight worked.. I would have been able to get the homework.
Valerie - is the food good in the big house. I really think you should post the pics. We would all like to see the mom breaking into the school to get homework. National news here you come.
Jack.. Just imagine the free adveristing this might get me for real estate. Newspapers headlines could read... "Look at the extremes a realtor will go to, to get the job done". You know we are always looking for the next new thing... this could be it.
Valerie,
That is incredible, but they had to believe you. I mean, who goes to school on a weekend - even a holiday weekend - to retrieve homework? :)
Steve
Steve.. That's just it.. who does??? But if they have cameras all over, they will know that nothing was touched.. not even the locker.. couldn't see it.
Valerie - LOL! That is hilarious! I'm with Gary - Where are the mug shots? :)
Debi.. I was laughing too, once I was back on the road from the policeman pulling me over. My son, Kyle was upset.. he thought I was having a nervous breakdown.. he could figure out why I was laughing.
If any shots appear, I'll be glad to post them to AR either on Speechless Sunday, or Wordless Wednesday... afterall I don't think words would be necessary.
Valerie, only you, only you ............. LOL
By the way were those the PJ's with the fuzzy bunny feet :) :)
Val- I am sorry but that is funny..... I can only imagine the look on your face and the policeman when he pulled you and you had your p.j.'s on.LOL Let me know if it makes the news. LOL
George.. You saw the tape!!! How did you know I had fuzzy slippers? LOL. Only kidding. I can't imagine what is being said at the school today.
Laura.. There is never a dull moment here.. can you tell. I can only imagine the chit chat over coffee in the teachers lounge today.
