The Playwright Halloween 5k

It is that time of year again! The Playwright in New Haven will be hosting their 3rd annual Halloween 5k road race to benefit the Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital. October is a great time to run in Connecticut with crisp morning temperatures. The forecast for Sunday is calling for a warm up into the 50's but we may have some rain. Tee Shirts from The Playwight Halloween 5k

What: Playwright Halloween 5k & Kids' Fun Run

When: Sunday - October 26, 2007 - 10:15 am

Where: 144 Temple St, New Haven, CT

My first run this year was on January 1st in Guilford at the Frosty 5k were we also had rain prior to the race but it stopped just before race time and turned out to be my quickest 5k ever.

The New Haven course for this Sunday's event is flat & fast but some folks will be slow and silly in their festive costumes. I neglected to prepare a Halloween outfit for the race so maybe I will pull out my ActiveRain shirt and go as "The Running Realtor".

I'm always running around New Haven County so if you need assistance Buying or Selling a home in my territory just remember to google CT's Running Realtor.

It'd be worth running just for the t-shirt. :0) Good luck with your run.

Hi Dan,

You don't need a costume anyway.....;)

Dan... too bad... I would give almost anything to have seen you in a costume for this race. Where is your Halloween spirit?

Dan--Very cute shirts! As for costume, pulling out the AR shirt is a good choice just don't pull out the Speedos! :)

Lindsey... Should be a fun run but looks like I'll be getting wet, again!

Suzanne... Hope you're not implying that I'm scary enough without a costume.

Jeff...  Maybe I'll come up with a shocking outfit.

Teri... No Speedo... Do you think it would be better to flashback to the 70's and go as a Streaker?

Darn it. That sounds like so much fun but the big joy kill has instituted the "all leaf removal, no fun weekend". If he hadn't I might have gotten up at the crack of dawn to run this one!

Beth... I have plenty of leaves up here so if you'd like to get away I can provide a perfect alibi.  Think a 60 second video of you having no fun near a pile of leaves would work!

oh come on Beth...blow him off! We would love to see ya!

Dan, hope you meet the time that you are shoting for.  It is amazing how often it rains on these races, I still remember the one you ran in last year in Middletown, but you lucked out this year.

George...  I never did have much luck so I get rained on quite often.  As far as the Middletown 5k this year I didn't really luck out... It was my first asthma incident during a race and cause my worst time since my first 5k.

Dan--Oh pleazee....no...never go back to that! On another note, some poor Fergus Falls teen recently tried that stunt at his high school homecoming a few weeks ago on a rather cold night wearing a sombrero and a gas mask...he was arrested and charged with indecent exposure. No one has a sense of humor anymore. The clip was on the news and it was the funniest thing I have seen in years!

Teri... Someone else decided on a Speedo and ran with the idea. Snapped a photo before the race just for you...!

Dan--At least it he wasn't wearing only a gas mask and sombrero. :) Hope you had nice weather this morning and raised lots of $$. We have our first blast of cold wind from Canada today. It is 40 but feels like 20. We are going to be nice for Halloween...If they are right with their forecast.

Teri...  Weather here was a bit warm for me, I look forward to those last few races before winter when there is a chill in the air but today was in the upper 50's and now it's down right hot and I had to open the windows in the house.

Dan--The cold weather is coming...Enjoy the open windows while you can.
