It is a privilege and deep honor to write my 100th post today on Veterans Day November 11th which is also celebrated in other parts of the world as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day marking the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that finally ended World War I at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
It is a day to pay our respect and say thank you to all of the men and women of our Armed Forces around the world who are currently serving and to those who served and sacrificed in years past so that we may enjoy the liberty and freedom we hold so dear today.
I especially want to say thank you and send my love to my Dad who served during World War II, my brother Dave, a member of the Connecticut National Guard who returned home last April from a one year deployment in Afghanistan and is expected to deploy again in early 2009 and to my son Bob who is in the U. S. Army and has served two tours in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Donna,
I couldn't think of a better way to honor your family...congratulations on your 100th post.
How Lovely...Thank you and your family for your service! My dad was career Army and after retiring worked at the Pentagon, my husband retired after 22 1/2 years in Nov of 2006, my cousin is a marine serving his 4th tour in Iraq, and my son is graduating from basic training on Friday. May God Bless and Keep all who serve! The tribute was lovely!
Donna, so happy this Veterans Day post got featured, what a beautiful tribute to your dad, brother and son. Such an honor to have a military family. May God protect them and give them grace during the days ahead.
Donna,
Please tell them I said thank you for their service! Congrats on your 100th blog, I just hit 201 on Vet's Day! Please stop by and vote on my Veteran's Day post!

Donna,
Thanks for sharing that beautiful tribute. I belong to another online real estate group (realtown) where I just read an account about a realtor/veteran. Upon coming home from serving in the Vietnam War he was told not to wear his uniform. He wore it anyway and when he got off the plane there was no applause, or handshakes, rather, a man who came up to him smiling and then spit in his face. I cannot imagine being spit upon at all, much less in my face, but this man took the high road and went on to raise a beautiful family and have a great career. He is proud of his service and his country. This is yet another example that we may be against a particular war but we cannot be against the veteran!
God Bless our Veterans and God Bless America!
Happy Veterans Day to all your family. Thank them for there service to this great Country.
Thanks for your post. As a Viet Nam vet, I can tell you we did not get much thanks when we came home. It is nice to know at least once a year there are people out there who take time to say thanks.
Hi Donna! I don't know how I missed this yesterday but, thank you for posting! You know I too, am related to wonderful Veterans and am incredibly proud of them as you are of yours! I know that you feel the same way that I do about the U.S.A. and support our troops as you should--as they protect our freedoms and are the true heroes in this Country. Happy belated V-Day (or should I say Armistice Day?!) and I salute your family of wonderful patriots!
Okay, I'm a bit 'blonde' today--CONGRATS ON YOUR 100th post and that little gold star! Well deserved lady!
Donna,
Thanks for the wonderful post for Veteran's Day and congrats on your 100th post. This year Veterans Day has a whole new meaning for me. My son (just out of high school) has joined the US Army. This was his decision and he is so thankful that he did. He always strives to do his best and I am so proud of him. He is still in Basic Training in Ft Benning, GA but graduates in January and will be stationed in Ft. Campbell, KY until possibly being deployed to Afghanistan. All this military stuff is new to me, but I can feel closer to him when I connect with other military families. God Bless your family!
I just love your post and everyday should be Veterans Day. You've spoke well of all the Men and Women and I say thanks to you for that. God Bless America.
Donna.. Veterans Day is a VERY special day for you and your family.. Please tell your son from me "Thank you". God Bless America.. and ALL that have served.
My husband is a vet and so is my son-in-law. I am very proud of their service. It is a different lifestyle and sometimes very hard on those who have to be away from those who love them. But even more is those who have to serve in harms way. No matter what you think about politics, those now and so many before are why we are enjoying our freedom. Tell a vet thank you today.
Katerina - Thank you so much especially for all of your support and coaching to reach another personal milestone. That video is very, very special to me and as it holds some very cherished memories.
Tammy - I did my share of crying yesterday too reading so many of the beautiful tributes like yours. It was so wonderful to see all of the expressions of love we have for our "heroes". God bless you!
Brad - Looks like the "stars" were all aligned in the right place for me yesterday. :-) Thank you for your kindness and support.
Castellum - Thank you...my dad was very proud of his service during World War II. He along with all our veterans are truly the real heroes today and always.
Rich - Your comments are deeply appeciated. May God Bless you and your family.
Diane - It turned out to be a very special day all the way around. Thank you and God Bless.
To unknown friend - Many thanks to your dad, husband, cousin and grandson for their service. Your family must be so proud of them all. May God Bless all of you!
Missy - I am so very proud of them all and honored by their service. May God bless you and family and watch over your two sons today and always.
Christopher - Thank you for your service while you were an Army paratrooper. You are a hero today and always. My son was Airborne too and was stationed at Fort Bragg until this year. God Bless you and congrats on your 201st post yesterday. I'll be stopping by to vote on your Veterans Day post in a bit.
Barb - I am a member of RealTown too and was so upset to read what had taken place. Our service men and women deserve much more respect and support than what they have sometimes received. We all must support them always. Thank you for sharing this. God Bless America and our troops!
Abi - Thank you for your kind words and I will pass along your thanks to them.
Bill - I was a teenager during that time and I remember how you and your brothers were treated when you returned home from Vietnam. I can't imagine how painful that was for you or them. I will always be thankful to you not only today but always for all that you have done for this country. God Bless you!
Debe - Happy belated V-Day to you and your family too. I am truly honored to share with you in how proud we are of our wonderful heroes....BTW...you may be a bit "blonde"...I have "senior" moments instead. :-)
Suan - Your comment brought tears to my eyes. The story of your son is so similar to mine. It was his decision to join the Army back in July 2001 and he too did his basic training in Fort Benning GA and we went down for his graduation in January 2002 and were so proud of him! A few months later in July he was deployed to Afghanistan and has since been on three other deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family and your son. When our children are deployed it especially hard on the families so if you ever need to talk know I'll be there for you. Please send my love and support to your son. God Bless!
Joyce - Everyday should be Veterans Day given the service and sacrifice our wonderful military give so unselfishly. Thank you and God Bless!
Valerie - Our family is so very proud of my dad, my brother and my son. I pray each day for all who are serving and have served to protect and keep us safe.
Donna - Please send my thanks to your husband and son-in-law for their service. It is so difficult for them and we their families when they are called upon and have to leave those who love them so much. Every time I see a soldier, I always go out of my way to say thank you!
Wow that was awesome Donna.............amazing.........goosebumpy......And your Son? Wow..........
Congratulations on your 100th and on your Feature...........triple blessings!
Donna, Beautiful post thanking all the veterans .You have a wonderful family. . Congratulations on the 100th post.
Liz - I still get goosebumps watching it too....there's a whole lot of love that went into putting it together. So you think my son's a WOW!!....So do I but I'm a little prejudice....I'll have to post a photo of my younger son..he's a real WOW too! :-)
Gita - Thank you so much....I so much appreciate your stopping by!
Donna- So many of us are happy when we get to this point-our 100th Post, but to have it actually coincide with something this important....well that's nice. I also liked the pictures of your son..nice:) Congratulations on all counts...:)
Kathy - I thought it was pretty special too how the two events coincided. To honor my family and our veterans on my 100th post will always be a very memorable moment for me.
