Atlanta is breathing a sigh of relief as our gas crisis seems to be ending. Over the last few days in Atlanta gasoline seems readily available almost anywhere. Yes some gas stations are still closed, but those that are opened they have no lines, and it is EZ to find gas. I have heard there are still some shortages in the Canton / Woodstock area from past clients. Gas prices have also dropped from an average of $4.09 last week for regular gas to under $4.00 a gallon. Today I filled up my vehicle and it was $3.89 a gallon. I might add, no waiting! There were several things that I personally attribute to the crisis ending. The first is that people came to their senses and stopped hoarding. It is not smart to keep topping off the tank. The second was the specially formulated gas for air pollution standards was temporarily waived. Gas stations also did an excellent job at directing traffic so that tempers did not flare. Kroger Supermarkets did an exceptional job in the John's Creek area at directing traffic, and keeping the lines moving!

Jim, thanks for your update, and that things are FINALLY easing up for you with the shortage of gasoline.
Gary Woltal - REALTOR® Dallas Ft. Worth (Keller Williams Realty) Yes it is a good feeling. I feel like I was under house arrest not being able to cruise town at will! Since I do not like lines, I just drove less.
Jim-Thanks for the update, I filled up my car yesterday for $3.19 a gallon.
"Not Your Average Joe"
Joe Federico
Joseph D. Federico, Westwood, MA Real Estate (RE/MAX Landmark) $3.19 wow! I paid $4.49 last week...the only gas I could find was high test.
Jim- They are just B.S.ing you because there is no shortage. Come one you think its hard to find gas a few states away from the refineries when it is free flowing and $3.21 in MI and apparently $3.19 in MA? lol We need to get these oil politicians out of office, maybe then there will be some kind of consistancy to gas prices, and less lies about supply. Seriously any shortages your faced with down there right now are entirely business made to jack prices up! Goodluck
Need to get some refineries going in the area so you aren't so dependent on gas from the Gulf.
I guess the refinery's in Texas are back near full capacity and catching up.
Gas has gone under $3.00 in some parts of Northern New Jersey. This is amazing what is happening in this part of the country!
Chris Horton (Horton's Lawn Care L.L.C.) I cannot say that thougth has not crossed my mind. I just returned home from a trip to Northern Virginia. $3.25 a gallon, all grades available. They share the same Colonial pipeline.
Gene Allen Realtor Hampton Roads Real Estate (Resh Realty Group) Still looks like some shortages here.
John Walters (Specialized Real Estate) North Carolina only had regular gas at $3.89 a gallon.
Bergen County Realtor, Sal Poliandro, SRES, ePRO, Short Sale Specialist (RE/MAX Properties) That is cheap!
Ever since, any upward surge in the price of gas has set off a national political clamor. The problems of high gas prices is a big threat and some people address this problem by learning the hypermiling replacement alloy techniques.
I didn't know you were still feeling the effects of Hurricane Ike. I thought the refineries were back in business long ago. In Colorado, prices are in the $2.30-$2.40 range, although if you want, you can pay more.
Jerry Becker and Associates We're OK now. But for 3 weeks there was very litttle gas here. $2.28 a gallon tonight!
Most of the station here are under 2.00 dollars/gallon. I passed on for 1.91/gallon!!!
Chad Baird (Re/Max Spirit) $2.25 today in Atlanta. WOW! That is cheap!
