Lawn Care 101 Series –
Tips for Saving Your Summer Lawn
Keeping your grass lush and green during the sunny days of summer
requires great care. Here are some helpful tips to help you maintain a
picture-perfect lawn:
1)
Fertilize your lawn: Fertilizing a couple of times a year will stimulate growth and a deep green color. You’ll get the best results by using a lawn spreader.
2)
Maintain your mower: A well-maintained mower will help you keep up a fresh, evenly cut lawn. Make sure blades are sharpened and the oil is changed regularly.
3)
Water often: Water a few times each week throughout the summer months. Early morning is the best time, allowing the lawn to dry before nightfall when fungus is most active.
4)
Repair pet spots quickly: Spots that go untreated will burn the grass and will require a lot of effort to fix. Watering the spot within eight hours can dilute the very high nitrogen level found in pet urine, keeping the grass free of brown spots.
