Today, I went shopping in my favorite grocery stores. I am so surprised that many items are either out of stock or they do not carry any more. This happens to not only one store but a few of them. Here in RI, we have shaws, superandshop and a heavy discount grocery chain, pricerite.
What are missinng? They run out of Fuji apples, some asian pears, turnips, etc.
I hope this is due to the holiday only, rather than due to the economy.
For those of you who do not know this little town, I would like to share with you some trivia about this small town.
1, Pawtucket is the birth place of American Industrial Revolution!
Sam Slater built the first successful commercial mill in American in 1793.
2, Providence, which is adjacent to Pawtucket, used to be the world capital of jewelries. And Pawtucket is just part of that Jewelry capital. Jewelry used to one of the major industries in Pawtucket.
3, One of the world's biggest manufacturer of toys and games, Hasboro, is headquartered in Pawtucket.
4, Sam Slater's partner, Moses Brown, who help founded the first mill in America, founded the Brown University, which is one of the 8 Ivy Colleges in this country.
Well, I know people's memories are limited to 3 items. But I think the the 4th item is really important. I hope enjoy knowing it.
I said in my posts that I really do not like cities. But I love the city for one thing, all the programs for kids. In the city,because the density of the population, it is possible to run many programs as per the rule of economy of scale.
Below is a picture of my daughter's gymnastic program. It is sponsored by the city of Pawtucket. The city runs four sessions a year. This session runs from Sept to Nov. My daughter just loves it.
The picture was taken right after the week of Halloween.

The ex-president Taiwan was arrested Nov 11,2008.
He was charged with embezzling hundreds of millions of dollars.
Well, I am commenting on if he is guilty or not. What I want to comment is:
It is important to have a high tech friend.
During the investigation, the prosecutors found a laptop from the ex-president's house. They found lots of evidence about how they have "stolen" the money and moved them to overseas.
Well, he is not stupid. Nobody would believe he would be stupid enough to keep all the records while being investigated. As a matter of fact it is said that he already asked his aides to delete all the files. What his aides did? I guess they just delete all the files to the recycle bin and them emptied it.
The problem is: your data are still in the hard drive. THEY HAVE NOT DISAPPEARED YET. Many recovery soft wares will be able to get the data back. That is what the prosecutors did!
I am by no means supporting Chen's embezzlement. What I want to comment is: it is important to have a high tech friend to offer valuable advices. Were he got a high tech friend, he would have destroyed the hard drive. Compared to hundreds of millions of dollars, a hard drive is nothing. Why keep it if it is hard to totally destroy the data?
By the way, as a smart and high tech person, my friendship has been fully claimed yet. You are welcome to claim some.

To makey money on eBay, you need to be knowledgeable and act fast.
Knowledgeable: know what sells fast and the market value of those items.
Act fast: those Buy it now items go fast if they are good deals. Why? Because so many people are watching. For auctions items, you need to act fast to bid at the last minutes in order to win those overlooked items.
The same rule applies to Real Estate:
Knowledgeable:Do necessary research so that you are knowledgeable about the property you are selling or buying.
Act fast:When the right property enters the market, act fast before anybody else takes any action. Or if you are a seller, act fast on the right buyer before he/she buyers from somebody else.
How I practice these two rules in Commercial Real Estate and business brokerage, as well as residential real estate brokerage?
Knowledgeable: I am well educated in economics, management, math, politics, international trade, computer and internet, code of ethnics and marketing. I do the necessary homework for every project that I participate.
By the way, I can do a lot more analysis and save a lot of time as a result of being a computer programmer and a statistician.
Act fast:I use all the technology to keep me connected with the people that I work for/with. I subscribe to as many as possible databases. I set alert on my cellphone using Text Message, instant message and email. My cellphone is my second brain that is always connected the internet. I am always just one phone call away, one text message away, one Instant message away, one email away and one click away on my website. I am always fully prepared for any decision. I help my clients fully prepared as well.
