Amy Whiffen, REALTOR® - Myrtle Beach Real Estate

Yes, the Myrtle Beach area real estate market is changing!

Prices have lowered, there are more homes on the market, and properties are taking longer to sell. Old news right? If you are concerned about the price you will get for your home if sold, renting it out may be another option.

On the Grand Strand since 1999, Eagle Realty started out managing vacation rentals at Tidewater Resort and other popular Myrtle Beach ocean front communities. Today we also manage properties available for long term rent in the Carolina Forest, Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Little River and Conway areas of Horry County.

While I'm trying to stay away from those lame marketing gimmicks, I believe we do have excellent marketing programs, unique (not high %) management programs and the drive to get everyone through these times as best as possible!

Give me a call we'll discuss the options, and remember - the market is a cycle, up's and down's - let's grab on and do something, instead of nothing!

Carolina Forest Community Park - Myrtle Beach, SC

Hi! I wanted to drop a quick note about the new "Carolina Forest Community Park" project that's now under way. Tomorrow night (Tuesday, September 23rd) 7pm at the Carolina Forest Community Church we are asking all area residents to come for our Design Day Kick off. Even if you do not have children please come as this park is an important step for our community.

Tomorrow designers, architects and Horry County Parks and Rec. personnel will be interviewing children at our area elementary schools to help get an idea of what "our" park should entail. The first plans will be unveiled tomorrow night.

The completion date for the park is set for April 2009. The budget for the project is $400,000, $300,000 of which has been appropriated by Sen. Luke Rankin and designated for use on this project. Volunteers hope to raise the rest of the money through fundraising efforts and donations from people, churches and businesses in the community.

I have already committed to help bring this park to reality and I'm sure there's many of you that can appreciate what this will do for our community, so please don't hesitate to jump in and join us.

I hope to see you tomorrow night!

Amy

Myrtle Beach’s Greatest Kids Summer Camp Ever!

This summer my son had reached the wise old age of 5 and had decided he wanted to be like mommy and learn how to golf. How could I say no? I myself have been having so much fun the last few weeks and truly wish I had learned years ago. So after one of my lessons with Natalie at The Classic Swing Golf School at Legends Golf Resort here in Myrtle Beach I grabbed a flyer explaining their 19th Annual Junior Golf Program.

driving range at legendsOver the summer they have 10 week long classes for ages 5-17. You can take as few or as many classes as you want. My son ended up taking three weeks worth of classes, spread out over the 3 months and all I can say is he has never had so much fun before!

He met new friends and as hot as the summers get in Myrtle Beach the kids were always so excited to get out there and learn. The instructors made learning so fun with contests, games and yes even a video analysis to take home and show everyone!

I just found out Natalie is going to be running a fall clinic open to all junior golfers held for 6 weeks every Saturday starting on October 4th from 1:30 -3pm. The price for the six week program is $150.

Feel Free to call the golf school at 843-903-5560 with any questions or to register your junior.

Is my son going to be the next Tiger Woods, extremely unlikely. But as long as he has fun and wants to continue with golf, I know where he's going - The Classic Swing Golf School!
