We found our builder through a friend. Ron Whitney designed our home to fit our specific needs and was so accommodating to all of our requests. We loved the design, looked at some existing homes they had built, and decided to proceed with Whitney Homes. They made the entire process of building our home so easy and stress free I would highly recommend Whitney Homes to anyone interested in building a new home. The quality and craftsmanship of our home is incredible. Their attention to detail is phenomenal. I wouldn't change one thing about our home or the experience we had building it!
Why should your builder be recognized for Construction Excellence?
Again, their craftsmanship and attention to detail is outstanding. Their customer service was excellent. Whitney Homes was also right on schedule throughout the entire process. We closed on the day we were told we would and everything went smooth as can be. After living in the home for two years we are still just as happy with it as the day we moved in!
What is your favorite element or feature of your home? Please explain.
One of my favorite elements of our home is the built-in closet organizers. It may seem small but in our previous home, that we also had built brand new, closet organizers and many other features were considered upgrades rather than standard as in our Whitney Home.
Tell us about your community.
The community we live in is Bridgetower. We chose this community one for the larger lot sizes they seemed to have compared to other subdivisions we looked at. We really liked the idea of the Pods. Almost every circle or "pod" in Bridgetower as just one enterance and one exit. That was very appealing to us.

Boise Developers plan for continued growth in Ada County

I went to the Building Contractors Association of SW Idaho Developers Council and got the latest development #'s for 2008.

Ada County recorded 100 new plats in 2008 YTD compared to 187 total plats in '07. This equated to 2,359 lots compared to 6,461 in 2007. Quick Math on these #'s equates to 23.59 lots per new plat in '08 compared to 34.51 in '07. Read more

Idaho Prospective Buyers play chicken

home loans dropped another quarter point so for everyone sitting on the fence you now have to decide....buy now before prices start climbing or hold out for another quarter point?

The Idaho Real Estate Chicken gameThe result of lower interest rates should be that more people will be able to get into a home. So if more people are able to get into a home that should create more inventory moving again and therefore prices may either stop dropping or even start to climb.

So if you are looking to buy what do you do? Do you hold out for another quarter point to save on interest? Do you buy a home now before prices start to rise?
