Adventist Healthcare has announced that it plans to move forward with its medical campus and hospital in Clarksburg, MD. It has worked for six years with Montgomery County planners and others to complete the various stages of the land-use process.
The plans call for a 100-bed hospital, medical office buildings for physicians and out-patient medical services, a nursing home, and a day-care center on a 60-acre site located at Rte 121 and I-270.

The updated statistics for October from the Realtor database are now available for Clarksburg....
Sixteen homes went under contract and a total of 35 new listings hit the market last month.
There were 12 homes that sold and settled in October 2008 -- identical to the number sold in October 2007, and the average days on the market for homes increased by less than one percent for this same period.
This indicates a fairly static situation for sellers, and a continuing opportunity for prospective buyers who want to take advantage of the imbalance in the supply and demand for homes.
Prelimary statistics indicate that fourteen homes in Clarksburg went under contract in October.
The lowest-priced home was listed for $229,900 and is a three-bedroom, 2 bath condo on Clarksburg Square Road.
The home with the highest list price was offered at $719,900 and is located on Bent Arrow Drive. Neither property has yet closed, so the final sales prices will not be available until that time.
The final residential sales statistics for October will be released on November 10. I'll be sure to publish those updated numbers as soon as they are available.
Mad Science, an interactive, entertaining science show for children, will be in Clarksburg on Monday, November 3.
The show is from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Clarksburg Town Center resident's club and includes amazing and educational experiments that the kids can take home.
You can sign up for the show and get additional details on www.ClarksburgConnects.com
