So you just bought a home and got everything in place and you get a letter from your Appraisal District. They are requesting your sold information. You are in Texas, so what is required.
As a Buyer of the home you do not have to respond to this request, because Texas is a non-disclosure state. The more you tell your taxing district the more they can change your taxes. So as home buyers it is better to keep this information to yourself.
As listing agents we are required by Article 2, section 2.5 of the ACTRIS Rules and Regulations to report sold data to ACTRIS within 24 Hours.
This is just a another great reason to live in Texas. So please tell everyone you know about this,
Have a great week,

A small history about Austin Texas
For hundreds of years, nomadic tribes of Lipan, Apaches, Tonkawas, and Comanches lived and thrived along the rivers of the Austin area. In the late 1700s the Spanish missionaries set up in the area. By the 1830s the first Anglo settlers name this area Waterloo.
In the year of 1837 Waterloo was named the capital of the new Republic of Texas. By 1839 the town was named after Stephen F. Austin "the father of Texas"
In 1888 the Capitol building was completed boosting that it was the "7th largest building in the world". In 1839 The Great Granite dam was built to help supply the growing city with more electricity. This was the beginning of the new Austin. Austin continued to grow after the depression and was well on its way to becoming a player in the High Tech industry. This in turned brought more people and jobs to the area. The city has grown from 856 people in 1840 to almost 750,000 today. Austin in now ranked the fourth-largest city in Texas and the 16th-largest in the United States. The city is the core cultural and economic center of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area with a population of 1.4 million.
Austin is situated on the Colorado River and on the Balcones Fault, which in much of Austin runs roughly the same route as the MoPac expressway.
Residents of Austin are known as "Austinites" and include a mix of university professors, students, politicians, lobbyists, musicians, state employees, high-tech workers, and blue collar workers. The city is home to enough large sites of major technology corporations to have earned the nickname "Silicon Hills." Austin's official slogan is "The Live Music Capital of the World," and many try to follow one of its unofficial mottoes of "Keep Austin Weird".
