BERLIN, N.H.-Smashed candles and a Rosary torn into pieces were among the wreckage when a church in Berlin, N.H., was vandalized over the weekend.
Both the sanctuary and the sound system at St. Anne's Church were damaged, and a number of items were stolen Saturday night. Authorities estimate the damage at between $15,000 and $20,000.
The Rev. Jeff Statz says a framed photo of the pope also was smashed. The congregation held Mass on Sunday, and parishioners stayed late to help clean up.

Have you ever thought how our lives would be different if not for the men & women of our armed forces?
This morning as I drove to the office I noticed many veterans getting ready for the days events. These Americans young and old have done so much for us no matter if they were involved in wartime or not. We salute them and thank them not just today but everyday! If you get a chance today say thank you to a veteran and attend a ceremony and ponder the question, where we would be today without their sacrifice?
