Okauchee Wisconsin is a fun little town that just so happens to have some great Lake homes on it. When I was younger one side of my family had a Diary farm on Nelson Road. I have great memories of jumping in the pond and getting leaches all over me. When my family was building multi families on Lake drive they used us kids as manual labor to pull all the rocks out of the lawns. Seeing it was about 95 degrees out with lots of humidity, and we worked all day, the coke we slammed down went down like steam, but it was always followed up by jumping in Okauchee Lake. That was fun. The translation of "Okauchee" many translations including "pipe stem", "long", and "the chief is come" There is even rumors that when the federal agents raided Al Capone's camp that Al Capone dumped his still in the lake before they came, and he split. One has never been found, but it is looked for.

Situated east of Oconomowoc, and west of Hartland and Nashotah, Okauchee is a wonderful community that has lots to offer from lots of nice restaurants,bars, businesses,and plenty of friendly people.

Monroe's Festival of Trees

Above is Re/Max Towne Square Realty’s Christmas tree for the Festival of Trees, an annual event of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce. This fund raising event raises support for area non-profit organizations. The program starts at 6 pm on Saturday December 6 at the Ludlow Mansion. There will be a silent and live auction running throughout the evening’s festivities. The Christmas trees will be auctioned off later in the evening. Re/Max Towne Square Realty’s tree is raising support for Green Haven, and is on display now in the front window of our office on Monroe’s Historic Square.
